i think i prefer the sneaker pimps version of ‘missile’ over the iamx version as well. i think the way it’s arranged, both the musical expression & singing evoke the subject matter: feeling downtrodden & constrained by a person you love. there was a fantastic video for this that seems to have disappeared from the internet. i remember it simply featured the lyrics scrolling by on an LED news ticker in a shop front. 

i find the videos to accompany the iamx version are far more self-indulgent, which evoke a more self-pitying reading of this song. i do like this one though, but that’s mainly because i’m totally down with less-glossy representations of power dynamics.
